Crispy, golden, and packed with flavor — these Air Fryer Fried Pickles give you all the satisfying crunch of deep-fried pickles but with far less oil. They’re quick, delicious, and make the perfect appetizer or snack for parties, movie nights, or game days.
1 cup sliced pickles
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Tabasco)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup minced onions (very fine)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
Dry the Pickles:
Lay pickles between paper towels and press gently. Let them sit for a few minutes to remove excess moisture — this helps them crisp up.
Prepare Egg Mixture:
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
Prepare Breadcrumbs:
Add panko breadcrumbs to a separate shallow dish.
Coat the Pickles:
Dip each pickle into the egg mixture, then into the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to help the coating stick. Place coated pickles on a baking sheet.
Air Fry:
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange pickles in a single layer with space between them.
Spray lightly with oil and air fry 5–7 minutes.
Flip, spray again, and continue cooking 5–7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Make the Dip:
Mix sour cream, mayo, salt, pepper, minced onions, garlic, and dill (if using) in a small bowl.
Serve:
Enjoy the hot, crispy pickles with your creamy dipping sauce!
Don’t skip drying the pickles — it makes a huge difference in crispiness.
Panko gives the best crunch, but you can use regular breadcrumbs if needed.
For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne or chili powder to the breadcrumbs.
Works with pickle chips or spears — just adjust cook time slightly.
Serve with ranch, spicy mayo, or BBQ sauce for fun variations.
