Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

For the Noodles & Vegetables

  • 8 oz egg noodles (or noodles of choice)

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • ½ cup snap peas or green beans, trimmed

  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch until evenly coated. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.

  • Make the Sauce
In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.

  • Cook the Noodles
Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • Stir-Fry the Beef
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2–3 minutes, until browned and nearly cooked through.

  • Add Vegetables
Add bell pepper, onion, and snap peas. Stir-fry for another 2–3 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  • Combine Everything
Add the cooked noodles and prepared sauce to the pan. Toss well until the noodles are evenly coated and everything is heated through.

  • Serve
Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice against the grain: This keeps the beef tender.

  • High heat works best: It helps the sauce thicken quickly and coat the noodles.

  • Customize the protein: Swap beef for chicken, shrimp, or tofu.

  • Add heat: Chili oil or red pepper flakes take this dish to the next level.

  • More veggies: Carrots, broccoli, or mushrooms are great additions.
