If you love soft, sweet, melt-in-your-mouth breakfasts, this Hawaiian Roll French Toast will be your new favorite! The rolls turn into warm, golden, cinnamon-kissed bites that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s super quick, super easy, and perfect for busy mornings, weekends, or whenever you want something fun and delicious.
1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
3 large eggs
3/4 cup half-and-half or whole milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Pinch of salt
4 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
Powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and maple syrup (for serving)
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and half-and-half until smooth.
Whisk in the vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt.
Use a toothpick or skewer to poke holes in the bottom of each roll.
This helps them soak in more custard without falling apart.
Dip each roll into the custard mixture and let soak for 30 seconds, turning so all sides are coated.
Don’t soak too long — they absorb quickly and can get mushy.
Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
Cook the rolls for 30–60 seconds per side, turning carefully to brown all sides until golden and crisp.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, fresh berries, and maple syrup.
Want extra flavor? Add a pinch of nutmeg or a splash of coconut extract.
For a lighter version, use low-fat milk and less butter in the pan.
These reheat well in the air fryer (2–3 minutes at 350°F).
Great for brunch boards or dipping with warm syrup!
