½ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 large sweet onion, sliced into ½-inch rounds and separated into rings

Prepare Breading Stations
In a shallow dish, mix flour, smoked paprika, and ¼ teaspoon salt.
In another dish, whisk egg and water.
In a third dish, combine panko and remaining ¼ teaspoon salt.
