These Air Fryer Hot Honey Butter Chicken Wings are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sweet-and-spicy hot honey butter glaze with smoky paprika flavor. They’re quick, easy, and perfect for parties, game day, or a simple appetizer everyone will love.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1½ teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drummettes
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
⅓ cup hot sauce
½ cup honey
¾ teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
Season the wings
In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken wings and toss until fully coated.
(You can also do this in a zip-top bag for easy cleanup.)
Air fry
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the wings in an even layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook for 12 minutes.
Make the hot honey butter
While the wings cook, whisk together the melted butter, hot sauce, honey, and salt in a medium bowl.
Taste and adjust salt if needed.
Glaze the wings
After 12 minutes, open the air fryer and generously brush the hot honey butter sauce on both sides of the wings.
Finish cooking
Return the wings to the air fryer and cook for 4 more minutes, or until the wings are fully cooked and crispy.
Serve
Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side for dipping.
Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed for maximum crispiness.
For extra crispy skin, pat the wings dry before seasoning.
Adjust the heat by using mild or extra-hot sauce.
These wings pair well with ranch, blue cheese, or a fresh veggie platter.
