These Air Fryer French Fries are perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and incredibly easy to make. With just a handful of pantry staples, you can enjoy homemade fries that taste just as good as your favorite restaurant version—without the extra grease. They’re ideal as a side dish, snack, or game-day treat and pair wonderfully with burgers, sandwiches, or your favorite dipping sauces.
1 lb russet potatoes (2 large or 3 medium)
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
⅛ teaspoon paprika
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Scrub and clean the potatoes thoroughly. Cut them into even ¼-inch thick strips.
Rinse the potato strips in cold water, then pat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
Place fries in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika over the fries. Toss again.
Transfer fries to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 10 minutes.
Shake or toss the fries, then cook for another 6–10 minutes until golden and crispy.
Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Soaking helps: Rinsing removes excess starch, leading to crispier fries.
Don’t overcrowd: Cook in batches if needed for even crisping.
Season after cooking (optional): For extra bold flavor, add a pinch more salt right after cooking.
Try variations: Swap paprika for chili powder, Cajun seasoning, or Italian herbs.
