This Air Fryer Filet Mignon recipe is an easy and foolproof way to enjoy a tender, juicy steak at home with minimal effort. Using simple seasonings and an air fryer, you’ll get a beautifully cooked steak with a flavorful crust—perfect for a quick dinner or a special occasion.
4 filet mignon steaks (5–6 oz / 140–170 g each)
1 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin recommended)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
This helps the steaks cook evenly and develop a nice sear.
Pat the filet mignon steaks dry with paper towels.
Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
Brush or rub the steaks with olive oil to lock in moisture and flavor.
Place the steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 9 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature:
Rare: 125°F (52°C)
Medium-rare: 130°F (54°C)
Medium: 140°F (60°C)
Medium-well: 150°F (66°C)
Well done: 160°F (71°C)
If needed, cook an additional 1½ minutes per doneness level, checking frequently.
Transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for 3–5 minutes.
Optional: top each steak with a small pat of garlic butter for extra richness.
Serve and enjoy!
Bring steaks to room temperature for 15–20 minutes before cooking for more even results.
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket—cook in batches if needed.
Always rest the steak after cooking to keep it juicy.
For extra flavor, add fresh rosemary or thyme during the last minute of cooking.
